About Adam

Adam Birenbaum leads Focus Financial Partners as Chief Executive Officer, setting the strategic vision and leading the operations for one of the industry’s leading financial services firms comprised of wealth management, family office and business management services. In this role, Adam is responsible for executing the company’s long-term strategy, fostering alignment among network firms, and elevating service excellence to meet the evolving needs of advisors and their clients in a dynamic financial landscape.

Adam also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Focus Partners Wealth, a role he has held since January 2025 after serving as the longtime CEO of Buckingham Strategic Wealth, now Focus Partners Wealth. In this capacity, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s scale and capabilities through disciplined organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and an unwavering focus on deep, enduring client relationships. Under his leadership, Focus Partners Wealth has become one of the largest and most respected registered investment advisers in the country.

His enthusiasm for helping clients achieve their goals extends to the boardroom as well. Adam actively contributes to the broader financial community through service on nonprofit financial and investment committees and participation in professional organizations, reflecting his commitment to stewardship and leadership beyond the boardroom. He is a past member of Fidelity’s Advisor Council. He's also active with the St. Louis Chapter of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Throughout his career, Adam has been honored as the recipient of a variety of awards as well as industry recognition.

Adam received a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law. Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan, an active collector of sports memorabilia and a movie enthusiast. He and his wife, a pediatrician, have three wonderful children — two daughters and a son.
